An old man was building a bridge across a river that he’d lived alongside all his life.
A younger man asked him, “Why do you build a bridge when you know every stone to step on. If the river is high, you know where to step. If the river is low, you know where to step.”
The old man said, “I don’t build the bridge for me, but for those who don’t know the way.”
