Lots of people give, but not freely. They expect something back, even though they deny that.
True giving has a sense that you almost can’t help yourself.
Many people have even more trouble receiving.
Some feel undeserving. Others feel insulted, as if receiving from another indicates a neediness they don’t agree with or don’t want to admit.
Why not just say, “Thank you?” when someone gives you something?
Imagine what their joy in giving does for them … and could for you too!
Make Today Matter! (Psalm 90:12)
Thank you, Barbara!
I am really touched by this written piece of yours on Giving and Receiving. I have always thought of being needy and undeserving when receiving, but now I understand that ‘freely giving and receiving’ is what makes our world flourish with love, smiles and oneness.
Thank you for helping me understand the essence of freely giving and humbly receiving as God’s children.
Stay blessed.
To God be the glory, Brother!
